okay so i was helping my mum in the kitchen and suddenly chuck bass came into my mind. despite the fact that some people think that chuck; or charles as lily would classily say it isn't his name cute? it's like, charles; is a complete ass, i seriously, seriously adore chuck :)
so why do people like me love chuck?
first of all, he has an amusing yet dainty fashion sense, period. his clothes are always abounding with colors and he puts on wicked stuff on himself. much of a daring fashionista, i have to say.
i mean, who would wear this for a one on one basketball match with the bff?
notice those tiny crowns on his sleeveless top? it's just beyond.
okay, so the outer layer of his attire showcase no extravaganza details. but it is definitely not plain haha. just look at the colour combination. yellow and purple? talk about contradiction haha. plus he balances the whole just-colour-no-patterns style of his with the checkered shirt. this would definitely look tremendously wrong on anybody. anybody, that is, except chuck :D
he once said;
"don't mock the scarf nathaniel, it's my signature"
teeheehee.
alright now, enough with chuck's fashion sense, another reason why i love him is the fact that he cares about his friends. sure, he can be annoying and flirtatious (& taktau malu when it comes to sleeping around haha) but he would do anything within his power to help his friends.
"look, i care about three things nathaniel; money, the pleasure money brings me and you."
he cares about nate a lot, obviously. yeah, sure, he slept with blair, but then he does love blair and he has done so much more for nate la ok? remember this one time when their senior came by for a visit? i don't remember his name, benzay or something? (ikut suka je kan letak nama) i don't really remember what happened either hehe, but i think this senior of theirs took nate out to gamble or something like that, and he sort of trapped nate into paying for his loss. chuck, being a brilliant friend as he is, came just right in time to save nate.
and that's not all that he's done for nate. in the latest season he actually sold off victrola so that he could loan the money to the archibalds, as they are facing severe financial problems. he didn't even tell nate, i guess he suspected that it would scratch nate's ego see how much he cares about nate? curse nathaniel for not being able to see how much chuck cares about him. and the way he calls nate nathaniel sometimes is so friggin comel.
he helped serena too when she got into trouble with georgina (or as chuck would say it, whore-gina, chuck is just hilarious!) he even lied to dan for serena's sake, which is not good, i know, but it proves the extend that chuck would go to help and protect his friends.
apart from all that, chuck is also surprisingly very romantic! the best man speech that he gave on his father's wedding was awesome. I quote Chuck Bass;
"In the face of true love you don't just give up, even if the object of your affection is begging you to"
mind you that he said that while looking at blair straight in the eye. hotness alert!
my favorite act of his in his conquest to court blair is when he gave blair a necklace on her 17th birthday. that was really the sweetest thing to do. and it was just so overwhelming to see chuck crumble (okay just a little okay, just a little) when blair asked him if he liked her. he didn't say yes, of course, he is a subtle person afterall (i think he is subtle?) but he did ask blair to define like and i think that summed it all :)
the fact that he is oh so very much into blair also makes him more adorable than ever. yes, he asked her to go to tuscany and stood her up and everything but he tried to make up for it. and sure he couldn't put his love for blair in words butbutbut then again, he did tell nate that he loved her, and actions speak louder than words. if he didn't love her, he wouldn't have attempted to stop blair from leaving the white party (was it the white party? i forgot hehe) with milord. or left the table during that small tea party thing when he saw blair's heart shaped pin on milord's sweater (he was frustrated and jealous, obviously, doesn't that just scream I LOVE YOU blair?)
last but definitely not least,
the ultimate reason why i love chuck is simply because, well,
HE IS CHUCK BASS.
who else can give "i'm chuck bass" as a reason and get away with it?
